Translating with Memsource

Note

Note that using the Memsource integration requires that you or a partner you work with have a Memsource account on a plan that provides API access.

Paligo requires API access to connect to Memsource.

If you are using or want to use Memsource to do your translations, there is a direct integration with this service. This means you can directly send translation jobs to Memsource instead of creating translation packages to send.

  1. First make sure you have a project in Memsource where you want to send your translations. Get the project id, you'll need it for the settings below.

    Note

The project id is not the main id name in Memsource, that is just a display name. You need the internal id, which you will find by opening the project in Memsource, and then check the address field in the browser. It will be the last part, looking something like this: M2hudz973wYSaBDkQi8xe4.

  2. Then in Paligo, go to Settings.

  3. In the Integrations tab, enter your Memsource credentials and the id, and hit Save.

  4. Now that you have the integration set up, you can choose to send a translation directly to Memsource in the Translation View, using the Export translation option.

Cog menu for Translate View. Shows various options, including Export Translation.

You'll find the option Memsource as an alternative to creating an XLIFF or PO translation package.

Export translation dialog, showing Translate from, Translate to, and Choose the document format settings.
  5. Click export, and it will turn up as a job in your Memsource account.
