Brand New API Style for HTML5
We’re really excited about this one, and we hope you will be too:
If you’re documenting software in any way, you’ve probably had the challenge of showing code and examples for different programming languages easily and tidily.
A popular way of solving this is a three-column format with the examples alongside the body content. Now you can publish to this format directly from Paligo, leveraging all the single-sourcing goodness at the same time!
Of course it’s completely customizable, so you can add your own touches to it.
The neat thing about it is, it is filtered “on the fly”. So your customer chooses what to see. Powerful authoring and fantastic delivery!
Direct Word, DITA, MadCap Flare, and Help & Manual Import
Yes, it’s been possible to import these formats before. But it had to be done offline. Now you have the option to import these formats directly in the Import Wizard. Try it out!
(And don’t worry, if you have more complex content, the offline option is still available if you need more tweak possibilities.)
Search Improvements
You now have even more search options in Paligo’s advanced search, making it easier than ever to find just what you need when creating content. What’s more, search performance on very complex content has been significantly improved.
New HTML5 Search Option
Not only have we improved the internal search in Paligo. We are also providing a new optional search for HTML5 output, blazingly fast, and with great features. Read more about it in the online help if you want to try it out!
Lots of Usability Enhancements
- You can easily make links of almost anything, any inline element and image can take a link attribute.
- If you have table rows you need to move around, it’s as easy as a keyboard shortcut.
- Integrations are easier to manage.
- Glossaries and indexes can be added more easily. Styling is controlled through the Layout Editor.
- If you’ve used the “Reuse text” feature, but want to remove the reuse link, it’s now easy to do with a keyboard shortcut.
