Back to Paligo Academy
Hi. My name is Nermin, and I work as a product owner at Paligo. Today, I will be talking about one of our latest integrations, namely Coveo. It is a search engine powered by AI. And it enables you to customize almost the whole customer journey. And you might wonder for who is this? Well, it's included in our enterprise package. And for this demo, I will be talking about three different features, namely faceted search, federated search, and the support of synonyms. But let's jump right into the demo. Let's start by looking into Paligo. So we have our publication called getting started with Paligo. It contains a bunch of components that you also might recognize, as there are tutorials on how to use Paligo. So for the simplicity of it, let's stick to this publication. What I have also done is to create a bunch of taxonomies, three of them to be more specific within the subject of colors. And let's see how I have applied them to the content. So as you can see from the publication that we looked at, the the taxonomies have been applied to six of the topics. And how does this relate to Coveo and what I promised to talk about? I will show you in a sec. Now this is how the publication that we have published looks like in Coveo. So let's talk about the three subjects that we touched upon earlier, which is federated search, faceted search, and the support of synonyms. So let's start with facets. This is what Coveo calls facets. And you might recognize these as these are taxonomies in Paligo. So they're linked in a way that you can filter on the taxonomies that you've applied on certain topics. And as you also see there are six as we saw in Paligo. Now moving on to federated search. Coveo is a powerful search engine that uses multiple sources to crawl through and index the content that you have. So if you add multiple sources, Coveo will look on all of them for search results. For example, you could add a Paligo HTML5 help center, like I've done, a website and a YouTube channel as sources. And then the search will include all of these relevance results from all of those. So this is what's referred to as federated search. And last but not least, synonyms. So this is important as it means that they can give users results based on different terminology. For example, if in your docs you refer to images, you could set it up so that if a user searches for pictures, they will get the results for images. So that is what it looks like when you set up Paligo with Coveo and especially faceted search and federated search, which I showed. I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, and if you are an enterprise client, please reach out to your customer success manager. Thank you for your attention. Until next time.
